Help your skin combat winter dryness

It’s that time of year when in most parts of the country the humidity drops, the indoor heating gets cranked up and you opt for that extra long hot shower, causing your skin to cry out for moisture. The first step is damage control... avoiding those practices that make skin even drier.

Tips:

  • Use lukewarm water when you shower and wash your face.
  • Stay away from alpha hydroxyl acid products that will further dry your skin out.
  • Use a sunscreen especially when out in the snow because of the reflection.
  • Drink extra water
  • Add a humidifier to your room.
  • Most importantly, your skin is still going to need some extra, extra help this time of year, so don't forget to moisturize.

Kiehl’s has been a long time favorite. Keep your lips moisturized, soothes chapping and dryness from winter cold. SPF 4. Limited edition currently available in Cranberry, Pear and Mint. Plus…. Not tested on animals. Reasonably priced at $8.50 a tube.
