Strawberry Dessert Scones

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup coarsely chopped strawberries
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
3 tbsp butter
red sugar sprinkles (or granulated sugar)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

In large bowl mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt with a fork. 
Mix in strawberries.  Add the cream and still until dough is sticky. 

Turn the mixture onto a lightly floured board and knead 7-8 times, adding flour if dough is too sticky.

Form the dough into a flat round shape of about 8-9 inches in diameter. 

Melt butter and brush (or spread with fingers) over dough, covering sides and top. 

Sprinkle the top with 2-3 tbsp red sugar sprinkles (the transparent ones, not icing sprinkles) or granulated sugar.

Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 12 wedges. Place the wedges on a lightly-greased cookie sheet.

Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
