English Toffee Recipe

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 large chocolate bar

Optional:1/3 cup nuts
 
Cook butter and sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until caramel  colored. Approx. 10 minutes…. Don’t burn.   Remove from heat, stir in nuts. Place chocolate bar onto a greased cooking sheet and pour mixture on top.  Cool and then break into pieces.
